Engine Coolant Pump Recall? 24V-608
Saw this on a Carfax on another BMW for sale.
I searched the NHTSA website vin on our 2016 BMW 228iand it’s listed the recall. However, no remedy is published…see below… NHTSA #24V-608 Recall #24V-608:474 ENGINE COOLANT PUMP Status: Remedy Not Available Need more information about this recall? Find an authorized BMW dealer, email CustomerRelations@bmwusa.com, or call 1-800-525-7417 Anymore intel on this recall? Will they replace the water pump under the recall? I was going to replace the water pump at like 75kmi as a preventative measure at a cost of around $1000. Thanks 2 all |

No more info from our local dealer - remedy not available yet. Coolant can leak onto the water pump connector resulting in a fire. Remedy is supposedly a shield to keep coolant off the connector.
Our '15 228i has 50k miles - a new pump might be nice if they don't mess up anything else doing the job!
