Not for OEM FSC Codes, but yes for Patch and Custom FSC Codes.

but how to read OEM code? i've enabled carplay, but have no VIM and cannot update maps (do not ask for fsc code), i think, it's not correct situation (may be wrong vin in nbt? to my sorrow, i have no contact with previouse servicemen)

You don't. If it was in head unit to read, you wouldn't need it to begin with.

I'm retrofitting a CIC unit from a 2009 E90 into my 07 E90 that has CCC this weekend. I believe I will need FSC code (if my CIC unit allows the update). Any information or advice is greatly appreciated. Thanks!

You need to use an Emulator / Activation module for the VIN mismatch, and use Map FSC COde based on Donor VIN, or change CIC VIN to match car VIN and then patch CIC and load a full set of custom FSC Codes including Map FSC Code with car VIN.

TY for the info. I've found that the CIC needs C1A firmware to be updated. Do you happen to know when that update was released (I.E. what year/build car would I need to find in order to get a CIC unit already with C1A? I can't seem to find this info any where. Thanks again!

No, you need to flash the donor CIC with latest 71.0 SP-Daten using WinKFP.

Thanks again for your response. I'm aware after install, I will need to code the CIC option to my VO via NCSExpert, write my VIN to the CIC via Tool32, and get the FSC/map codes. I was unaware of having to flash with WinKFP (which I have). Is there any more info regarding this? Thanks so much!
