2) I thought Scott has said that the M2 will be an I4 turbo.

Me likey
Although I hate that the euro flat front crash standards have dictated a higher hood and therefor a higher door/and shorter green house in the newer bimmers. And wtf does telematics mean?

Not a fan of current styling trends so, I'm not confident that this car will look good. However, if the M2 comes with a modified version of the N55 (far more likely than a modified version of the N54, IMO), this car could be incredible.

The only bad thing I can find about this car is the wait!
I have been buying BMWs since 1998 and M cars since 2004. I consider myself a hard-core BMW and M fan but have not been too excited about recent offerings, including the M X5/X6 and F10 M5/F12 M6 (although I confess the M6 GC looks great). I liked the E9X M well enough but it wasn't special enough to replace my E39 M5 (after over 8 years of ownership, I'm never giving it up!). The E86 M coupe pushed the right buttons for me, leading to my most recent M purchase. The 1 M was the first new BMW I was genuinely excited about since the E86 M Coupe. Manual only, limited frills, all performance. Extended drives (my friend ownes one) of the 1 M found that it lived up to all my expectations. I have VERY high hopes for the M2. The combination of longer development time and much greater production numbers vs. the 1 M will ensure this car is a "game-changer."

Whatever it is, this account does not seem to match up with any previous information which indicates the M2 will be powered by a high boost 4 cylinder. If I knew the future, I would not be here.

I hope the M2 doesn't look like the hunchback e82 1series M coupe.

I hope the M2 pricing is around what the 1M pricing was.. My 2012 135i lease is due to be up in Feb. of 2015.. If the M2 looks good & price is right.. I may have to jump into an M2 instead of buying out the 135..

The M2 is a car that I might be really interested if it comes out right. The other car I was leaning towards was a jcw coupe. I liked my E46 M3 so much that I would like to find something small and nibbled like it. These new cars are getting too large and computer controlled. I understand the concept behind all the saftey.
Beside the E30, my era was the E46. So for me that was the best M car, well for me. But when the 1M came out I fell in loved and missed out as I had currently own the E92 M3. But with the prices so high on a used one because it so limited. I'm hoping the M2 is also built on the same spirit or platform as the 1M pure enjoyment and fun. Not about lap times but about good handling and yet once in awhile letting the rear end out. Also being light and small. That's why I was looking into a jcw coupe because its small, especially because it's a coupe and lots of fun, not fast by any means but very fun at the track, as I have experience on my current mini. But I'm willing to wait for the M2.
