135i brakes better than 335i?

Since the 335i is supposed to be up on the 135i why are the 1 series brakes better and supposedly faster for a lower price?

It's lighter so that's why it's faster and yes the brakes are better as they have 6-piston calipers.

It's cheaper because it's smaller, less features and amenities and it's less luxurious.

smaller yes. But in terms of features and amenities, almost everything that is available on the 3, is also available on the 1.

I read on 1addicts that the back seat is similar to the E46 coupe

I just read on EVO mag that the i135 fixed caliper brakes are not very good as it faded badly on their track testing.

yes it was hard track driving for an extended period of time on STOCK pads...any car would fade eventually on stock pads...given its not a supercar

Number of pistons does not equal performance, contact area and rotor size does.

Yes, but probably the street compound, not a track compound, for drivability I suspect.

I might have waited for 135i if it wasn't so ugly!

The 1 coupe is not a 3 coupe. That said they 3 coupe is not a 6 coupe . But the 3 coupe gets the best reviews from American and European press. The 1 series and the 6 coupe cannot claim that distinction.

Looks are subjective, performance, ride/drive, and comfort are not.

er... the 1-series was not designed to be a supercar... so it was not designed to be for your consideration if what you want is a sub 3 sec car. the price justifies my claim.

and since when did looks have anything to do with 0-62?
